Everyone in Room 1 certainly enjoyed making these wooden toy trucks. The children all had the same wooden parts and what a wonderful array of colours and final designs we had! All the children had a part in cutting and hammering but had total control over the choice of colours and placement of the parts.
'My truck has an aerial on the back!', said Levi. 'An awesome truck Levi!', said Mrs. Swanson
What beautiful Sandsaucers! The children were able to display some very interesting and beautiful patterns. Well done to everyone for your lovely work.
The children had great fun doing this art work and produced some very good colour combinations and contrasts.
An arrangement in a cream bottle. Well done Kathleen for remembering to have a focal point and some height in your arrangement.

Modules - Gardens
This is Room 1's garden. We are planting vegetable seedlings and seed potatoes in our garden. We planted lettuce, silver-beet, cabbage and broccoli. We also planted radish seeds. We had turns watering the garden. We could see the radish seeds growing, they were coming up through the soil. They are white shoots and they have the seed case on top.

Daffodil Day at Koputaroa
On Friday, August 26th, the children and staff of Koputaroa School joined the national 'Daffodil Day' in support of the Cancer Society. Everyone had a lot of fun dressing in yellow as a way of showing support. We also made a gold coin donation to join in the fun! There was also a Student Council prize for the best dressed student in each class. Well done Eva for your great costume and being the winner of Room 1's prize, your daffodil hat was awesome! Room 1, you all had great ideas and made a wonderful effort to join the fun day! Well done and thank you for helping others!

After morning tea we had a wonderful discussion about this very new experience and some great writing has been produced about the snow. Modules - Print making
We have been going to Room 3 with Mrs. Robinson to learn about printmaking. First we had to very carefully cut out our kiwi shapes. We had to use the roller to spread the ink and the press to put the ink on the paper.
Here are some stories that Room 1 have written about their module experience.
We printed a Kiwi and it was fun and we used ink. (Sam)
We did printing Kiwis with Mrs. Robinson. (Toby)
